STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE ADS & ARTICLES

(Above): This is an article highlighting Strawberry Shortcake's popularity with some information on doll markings.
(Above):  This is a neat ad for a contest where the winner not only gets to be Strawberry Shortcake's guest at the 1982 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade but also receives everything in the room pictured plus many more extras!
(Left):  "In 1983, retail sales projections for Strawberry Shortcake merchandise will reach for the one billion dollar mark."  This was an ad sent to retailers.
(Above): An interesting article about the positive and negative effects of saving the best for last.

(Below): A brief history about the dolls and toys that were produced, including a value guide.
(Above): A story about a Strawberry Shortcake collector who allowed people to view her collection in which all proceeds went to charity.
Below are catalogue ads showing some of the dolls and toys that were available.
The following ads are from a Montgomery Wards catalogue.  Strawberry Shortcake was so popular that it had 17 pages of advertisements!
This is a toddler sized pull on jump suit in my collection that can be seen in the ad to the right.
(Above): Wouldn't it be neat to own one of those roller riders on the bottom right corner? I've never seen one on eBay or in anyone's collection.  And look there's that hard to find Crepes Suzette paintable vinyl figure.
(Right): A York Steak House ad offering a free Strawberry Shortcake miniature with the purchase of a children's meal for $2.69.  There were 36 different minis to collect in all.  Hmm...I wonder if any of the hard to find minis such as Plum Puddin' or Peach Blush were offered?  The coloured picture to the far right was a mini poster on the flip side of the ad.
