| These are another exciting discovery for me as I've never seen these dolls before! They resemble the Berrykin line of dolls, only they are much larger, measuring approximately 13.5" (or 34 cm). These dolls have eyes that could open and close like the Sweet Sleeper dolls and all the bows are still factory attached! From left to right: Orange Blossom Berrykin, Strawberry Shortcake Berrykin and Mint Tulip Berrykin! |
| STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE: |
| (RIGHT): Here she is standing next to the American Strawberry Shortcake Berrykin doll for comparison. Her bow is factory attached and it looks like there was a mark for a strawberry decal but it is no longer there. The dresses are very similar, it's just her sleeves that aren't made of chiffon. Also, notice how her hair is short for a Berrykin. |
| (ABOVE): The back of her neck is marked "BASA IND. PERUANA" just like the vinyl head Party Pleaser doll form Peru (please see previous page). Therefore, I do believe these dolls are actual Strawberry Shortcake dolls rather than knock offs. Also, there is a number "1" marked on the back of her head but I am not sure what significance this serves. |
